Dr. Matthew Decker - Veterinarian

Dr. Matthew Decker combines clinical excellence with compassion and connection to provide the best experience for patients and clients.

Originally from Louisiana, Dr. Decker moved to Bastrop, Texas in 2000. He completed his bachelor’s degree in pre-veterinary medicine and master’s degree in biochemistry at Texas State University before attending Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences where he earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. Upon graduation, he commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps where he served honorably for 11 years, exploring the world, gaining invaluable leadership experience, and caring for both family pets and remarkable military working dogs. In 2026, Dr. Decker closed out his military career to move back to Texas near family.

Dr. Decker strives to foster and enhance the human-animal bond through exceptional patient care, empathy, and communication. When not caring for animals, Dr. Decker loves to travel, work on home projects, and spend time outside with his wife and three wonderful children.
